Today’s wash day features the Carol’s Daughter Monoi Repairing Line and my attempt to do flexi rods on transitioning hair. Unfortunately, my flexi rod set was a failed attempt because my hair refused to dry before needing to leave the house so I turned lemons into lemonade and did a hair bun instead.
Benefits of Using One Product Line
When I visited the hair salon, the stylist talked about how she prefers to use one line from start to finish because product lines are formulated to work together. I’ve heard this before and have even used an entire line before but that was pre-healthy hair journey before things mattered much. Therefore, I decided to incorporate this concept again to see what the outcome would be.
I used Carol’s Daughter Monoi Repairing Line which fortifies hair, seal in moisture, repair damaged natural and relaxed hair. I’ve come to really love this line over the past year. I actually use the shampoo often. In fact, it has become my go-to sulfate-free shampoo.
In addition to using an entire product line, I also completed my entire wash day in the shower, to include deep conditioning. All, if not most, of my previous stylists believe deep conditioning with heat is not necessary each wash day. At best, once a month. Therefore, I decided to try in-shower deep conditioning to see what the results would be.
Carol’s Daughter Monoi Repairing Sulfate-Free Shampoo
The Monoi Repairing Shampoo is the best sulfate-free shampoo I have tried to date. My hair and scalp is always clean, never feels stripped and is always hydrated. This creamy formula works well on all hair types and textures.

Carol’s Daughter Repairing Hair Mask
This was my first time using the Monoi Repairing Hair Mask. I love the thick, creamy formula. My hair tends to soak up thick creams better than thinner formulas. This hair mask did not disappoint. My hair felt amazing – very soft and hydrated – in under 10 minutes. And, there was none of that crazy business of hopping in and out of the shower.

Carol’s Daughter Moni Repairing Line
- Monoi Oil gently conditions the hair
- Bamboo Water reinforces the hair’s structure
- Hydrolyzed Silk fortifies hair against future damage
- Pro-vitamin B5 reconstructs the hair cuticle
The Carol’s Daughter Monoi Repairing Line makes my curls pop and leaves my hair hydrated. I struggled with buying both the Conditioner and Hair Mask because ingredients are similar in a lot of ways. However, I’m glad I purchased both as they clearly perform differently. The conditioner is just a quick rinse out conditioner and the hair mask is more of a deep conditioner. Using the entire line together generated better results than pairing individual items with another product line.
I have the split end sealer and anti-breakage spray and will incorporate these on my next Carol’s Daughter Wash Day. I’m even thinking of purchasing the leave-in conditioner as well. Yeah, I love this line just that much.
