At the start of this year, I conducted a review on the The Original Curly Tee Towel, which is an oversized soft cotton jersey like material t-shirt great for air drying and plopping [natural hair technique]. I have been using the towel around eight months now and thought I give you an update on how things are going and also show you a video on how I use it to air dry my hair.
Below is a photo of what the towel looks like when spread out on the floor.
As you can see, it offers an enclosed design at the bottom of the t-shirt to help catch water droplets from dripping wet hair. The design of the Curly Tee Towel also enables it to trap much needed moisture into the hair while absorbing excess water from your final rinse. Off to the side are what look like arms. They too are enclosed and good for tying the Curly Tee Towel multiple ways. At the top of the Curly Tee Towel is an opening for your head along with a drawstring so that you can adjust the towel to your desired fit.
Below are some different views of the towel.
Starting from the top left, this photo shows how the arms of the Curly Tee Towel hang down to the side giving you options for how to tie the towel. The top right photo shows how the length of the towel hangs in the back. You can allow your hair to air dry just like this if you wish. Bottom left photo shows how I used the arms to tie the towel at the crown. The bottom right photo shows the length of the towel wrapped into a knot which is my preferred method. Excess water seems to absorb quickest with this method.
Curly Tee Towel offer different towel options with a starting price $12.99. They also offer a money back guarantee.
Curly Tee Towel Review
The length of my hair fits comfortably under the Curly Tee Towel. The Curly Tee Towel does not pull, snag or tug at my nape hair which is fragile from the start. Last thing I need is a towel or t-shirt snapping those hairs.
The Curly Tee Towel absorbs excess water from the hair without removing product which is excellent for me. I enjoy adding a bit of leave in conditioner to my hair when it is dripping wet so that as it dries, it is drying moisturized. Starting my air dry process without applying product to dripping wet hair can sometimes lead to dry, bushy. When air drying with a t-shirt, product have a tendency to slide off the hair. That is not the case with the Curly Tee Towel.
