Paula’s Choice Skincare is a luxury skincare line that has been featured on Oprah, The Today Show, The View, Dr. Oz., plus more. I really could have stopped at Oprah because anything featured on Oprah is totally worth my time. Let’s talk Paula’s Choice!
I have participated in several beauty campaigns and this is the first company to survey my needs before recommending products. I love the customized approach! We talked skincare attributes, concerns and sensitivities before the rep recommended products for combination skin.
The Recommended Products for Combination Skin
The following products are listed in order how I use them.
- Promises to remove excess oil and makeup while soothing irritated skin
The cleanser is lightweight but don’t let that fool you. Less is definitely more. I used a nickel size amount the first few uses and my face felt stripped. Scaling back to a pea size amount worked perfectly. I use it morning and night.
- Promises to reduce irritation as it lightly hydrates skin.
I use a toner daily because it balances the pH in my skin, shrink and tighten pores, detoxify the skin of pollutants and reduce acne. It’s gentle enough for me to use twice daily.
- Promises to exfoliate both the skin’s surface and deep inside the pores for radiant skin.
This product gently exfoliates the skin without irritation or burning. It helped to fade some small hyperpigmentation areas and offered temporary appearance of firmer skin. Use twice daily.
- Promises to soothe irritated skin and reduce inflammation.
Following up with a serum after using the exfoliant is a perfect transition. It replenishes the skin with moisture before moving to the moisturizing step. Use twice daily.
- Reduces irritation while moisturizing and protecting skin.
The moisturizer is very lightweight and provided a matte finish which is great for those of us with oily skin. I did find it to be a little too lightweight though so I mixed it with my go-to rose hip seed oil for heavier coverage. This moisturizer is for daytime use.
- Gently hydrates and repairs while maintaining skin barrier reducing irritation.
This moisturizer is a bit heavier than the daytime moisturizer and provided adequate overnight hydration. Soft, supple skin by morning!
- Spot treatment for acne
The product is formulated with perfection. I use this at night and by the next morning, the areas have dramatically reduced in size. By day two, they are practically gone.
- Excellent for dry skin around eyes
This eye cream contains shea butter and is super moisturizing. I love thick products and like the consistency of this one better than any I’ve tried.
My skin has been showing major improvement since upgrading from drugstore brands to luxury skincare lines. Paula’s Choice has a mid-range price point but they run sales often to help you build a skincare regimen at an affordable price. They even offer a 60 day money back guarantee.
