Although I had breakage in the crown, no major hair cut was required. The takeaway here is know your hair! Stretching can be done successfully but it takes practice and doesn’t come easy for some. It also takes frequenting a salon with a stylist that is skilled and capable of working with thick new growth.
Properly Detangle before Getting a Relaxer
I also learned a second valuable lesson. We should detangle our hair really well before getting a relaxer! Have fully detangled hair will minimize the potential for experiencing hair breakage from a relaxer touch up.
