My post for today is a collaboration with Ko’lana Kurls. She and I opted to create our favorite hairstyle with using marley hair. Although my faux bun with marley hair video is by request, it is also my favorite go-to protective style when I am not wearing a wig. I have worn this style so many times that I can almost do it with my eyes closed. It is really that quick and simple! Just watch and see….

How To Make A Faux Bun with Marley Hair [Info]
Finding the right hair for a faux bun was a bit of a challenge at first. I tried many textures without much success including traditional silky ponytails and kanekalon hair. Both were texture misses.
When I stumbled upon marley hair, I knew it was a perfect match almost instantly because it resembles my new growth extremely well. I of course consulted with my shopping partner to be sure (that would be my husband) and he agreed – perfect match.
My beauty supply store sell marley hair under the name nubian twist. The nubian twist hair is the same texture as marley hair with the name being the only difference from what I can see. I am wearing a #2.
The nubian twist is a sizeable pack of hair so I only use half a pack for my marley hair bun. I can reuse the ponytail for up to two or three seperate uses before having to toss it and create a new one.
