I received three bundles of Royal Brazilian Body Wave hair from DY-Hair777 for review a few months ago. Before conducting the review, I dyed the hair which I demonstrated on the How to Dye Hair Extensions video. This post is what most of you have been waiting for. Within, I show you how to make a lace wig with closure using Royal Brazilian Body Wave hair.
How To Make a Lace Wig with Closure: Research
Research: First and foremost, I conducted a thorough search on Google and YouTube for: how to make a lace wig with closure, best wig cap choices and stitching methods.
Cap Choices: I was torn between the mesh cap and dome cap. It really was house divided with some choosing the mesh cap and others choosing the dome cap. My ultimate goal is and was to protect my edges by any means necessary so I chose the dome cap.
I have experience with wearing a dome cap and I like how it fit and feel under my lace wigs and full cap wigs. I really like that my edges are not damaged or rubbed thin. I have never worn a mesh cap, thus I am unsure how gentle it would be on my edges. Choosing a dome cap was a pretty easy choice in the end.
Side Note: Making a lace wig with closure with using a mesh cap just seems a lot easier and faster than using a dome cap. However, I selected the cap that I thought would provide the best coverage and protection for my hair.
How to Make a Lace Wig with Closure: Stitching Methods
The YouTube experts make wig making look simple but it is far from it at first. It took hours to get the stitches figured out. As shown in the video, I did a basic stitch for the lace closure, a double thread stitch (I made this phrase up) for the bottom row of the hair and a blanket stitch for the rest of the hair.
Fold Over Method
Rather than cutting the hair at the end of each row, I folded the hair over to create a new row and continued stitching which made it a lot easier and faster.
Final Results
Although it took about 6 hours to complete and several needle pricks later, I am very proud of my efforts and extremely pleased with the quality of hair. The Royal Brazilian Body Wave by DY-Hair777 is of excellent quality, experienced limited shedding during install, did not tangle although I glimpsed a few split ends (maybe like one or two), has natural luster and realistic density.
In an upcoming video, I will show you how I thinned out the bangs by cutting layers to frame my face. I will also show you the method used to cut the length to make it appear a tad bit more realistic.

You laid and slaayed that wig. I am not so blessed with skill in maneuvering extensions! I’m saving this video so that I cam try to make my own wig sometime. I love a lace front in the winter time as my seasonal protective style (I live in the hot, b humid southeast, and would literally die under a wig outside the Oct-March timeframe, lol). I used them to transition for 18-months when I was natural. Very helpful vid# thanks!
I am a Florida girl, born, raised and currently reside so the heat can be a beast. I get it!! Shorter wigs are much cooler than longer wigs hanging on my neck.
I love it, Jay!

TY, Nerline!
Great job Jay! You made this look so easy and have motivated me to finish my crochet braid wig sooner rather than later.
The wig is also very becoming to your face. I’ve learned that wig’s are really obvious when they don’t compliment the wearer’s face.
TY, Meka!! IT WASN’T EASY…OH MY GOSH, it took forever to get the party started but once I got going, I was able to get through it pretty easily. I will try to make another at some point.
great job,you could also try this one if interested.
