PRODUCTS FOR FLEXI RODS ON RELAXED HAIR
Pre-Wash Day: I pre-pooed with Claudie’s scalp elixir (scalp) and Dabur Vatika Oil (length).
Wash Day: On dry hair, I spritzed my scalp with Claudie’s Tea Spritz in hopes it would help with shedding. I then detangled with Mane n Tail detangler. I slathered on HairVeda Red Tea Conditioner and allowed it to sit for 30 minutes.
Leave Ins & Style: I squeezed excess water from my hair with Dabur Vatika Oil soaked hands. I then t-shirt dried my hair for 10 minutes before applying Pura Body Naturals MuruMuru Mositure Milk as my leave in. Because I decided to do a flexi rod set, I spritzed my hair with Purelogy 21 Benefits. This product has a number of benefits but I mainly wanted it for the heat protection. I then set my hair in 8 large flexi rods and smoldered under the Pibbs 514 Kwik Dri Dryer for about 1.50 hours.
How To Use Flexi Rods on Relaxed Hair: After removing the flexis, I added moisturizer (Annabelle’s Perfect Blends hair creme), sealed my hair (avocado oil) and oiled my scalp (oil blend I created). I was very pleased! While my results appeared awesome, I had two sections that were not completely dry. Aaargh! I refused to smolder some more so I figured I would just deal with the limp curls.
The goal at beginning of this wash day was to give my hair a boost of heat as it performs better when heat styled. I wasn’t looking for curls and bounce but that’s what I got and totally love it! I placed 5 bantu knots in my hair to round out the night to preserve the curl, bounce!! Score!
