I am sure it is no surprise that this is is a wash day with Komaza Hair Care since I have new goodies in my stash. I kicked things off with a pre-poo of Komaza Pona Hair & Scalp Treatment. I kept the treatment on for 30 mins before clarifying and chelating with Redken Cleansing Cream. I wanted my hair free of product because I learned the hard way — testing new products with product buildup can lead to misleading and quite disappointing results.
I cleansed once before using Komaza Protein Strengthener. I used it as per the directions on the bottle – 20 minutes without a plastic cap. Not using a plastic cap was a first but hey, it worked. Upon rinsing, my hair felt soft. I can dig it! I deep conditioned with NaturelleGrow Mango & Coconut Water under my hot head heat cap for 30 minutes.
I used Komaza Coconut Damage Control Serum as my leave-in. My hair felt ok but not great. The Coconut Damage Control Serum has protein and given I just used a medium protein treatment, I was growing a bit nervous. I wasn’t confident to just move forward and let the leave-in do what it do. Just for peace of mind, I layered on a thin layer of Pura Body Naturals MuruMuru on top. Whew! Things were all better and my hair felt great.
Now for styling…I decided to give tension blow drying with cool air another try for old time sake. I sucked at it before so this was a gamble. In previous times, sealing with oil resulted in extremely dry hair. I recall Komaza saying don’t be afraid of silicones. Therefore, I layered on a very thin layer of Sally’s GVP Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum before tension blow drying. Guess what folks? My hair felt great. Apparently, using serum made a huge difference!
After I was done, I applied Komaza Bountiful Mane to my scalp. This was definitely an awesome wash day even at 15 weeks post. Yeah-Baby-Yeah!
Hoping you also had a wash day hit this week!
