Komaza Pona Hair and Scalp Treatment is a mild scalp exfoliator that gently removes build-up and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) for a healthier, cleaner scalp with minimal shedding.
Komaza Pona Hair and Scalp Treatment Review
Komaza Pona Hair and Scalp Treatment prevents hair loss and minimizes excessive hair shed. The hair shaft becomes thicker and growth is stimulated. It promotes a healthier scalp and eliminates dandruff. It is an excellent pre-shampoo (pre-poo) product to combat the hair being stripped of necessary oils while shampooing. Great product for dealing with folliculitis, psoriasis and eczema.

My Assessment
Since incorporating Komaza Pona Hair and Scalp Treatment within my regimen, scalp health has improved. I no longer experience dryness, itchiness or flakes of any kind.
Product marketing indicates it exfoliates the scalp. When I reached out to Komaza Hair Care to inquire how one knows the scalp has been exfoliated, I was told it can only be seen under a microscope. I do not own a microscope so I have to put my trust in Komaza on this one. I will say, once upon a time, I could shampoo what felt like really well yet still collect residue under my fingernails or on my fingertips. That is no longer the case.
The closest observation to it exfoliating my scalp is the absence of product residue every wash day and throughout the week. No matter how much product I use, I have no residue collecting under my fingernails or on my fingertips when spot checking for buildup or residue.
Product marketing indicates it stimulates hair growth, thickens the hair shaft and reduces shedding. My average growth before using Pona Hair and Scalp Treatment was 0.5″ per month and it remains 0.5″. Therefore, it has not accelerated my growth.
Shedding is a normal process although many of us try to slow or stop it. I am ok with shedding as long as it is not excessive. I consider my shedding normal, thus I have not noticed any reduction in the amount of shed hairs each wash day.
Overall Assessment
I love Komaza Pona Hair and Scalp Treatment for its scalp health benefits – no residue, product buildup, dryness, itching or flakes. I do not, however, prefer it as my sole pre-poo. Its thin consistency does not provide a thick enough barrier to protect my hair. Therefore, my easy fix is to simply layer an oil on top.
Mar-V-Cide Shampoo Invigorating Brush
The Pona Scalp Treatment works great with an invigorating scalp brush to lift dead skin cells and product buildup. These two are wash day staples.
