* Are you struggling with moisture not lasting beyond wash day?
* Does product just sit on top of your hair?
* Are you looking for ways to improve hydration?
Many rave about warming their leave-in(s) before applying it to the hair. This technique is especially common amongst low porosity divas that struggle with product absorption. Many assure they have been able to achieve enhanced product penetration and increased moisture by doing this. Well, as luck would have it, this technique did absolutely nothing for my hair. 🙁
However, All Hope Isn’t Lost!
Have you tried applying leave-in(s) then using a heat cap or plastic cap to generate heat? If you answered no, you’re missing out because this, my friends, is the bomdiggity (does anyone still say that? 😛 ). This technique is similar to the concept of deep conditioning and/or baggying — heat opens the cuticles, product absorbs and the end result?? Yep, you guessed it, moisturized hair!!!
It’s really simple: I t-shirt dry my hair until about ~90% dry. I apply leave-ins, toss on a plastic cap and use my heat cap anywhere from 15-30 minutes. I then seal with a dab of oil. Moisturized hair every time!
