I love how makeup makes my face pop but finding makeup for acne prone skin has been a challenge in the past. I stopped by Sephora to look for some new lipstick and inquired about some good makeup options for acne prone skin. I walked out with $90 worth of products and an appointment for a mini makeover!
Bare Minerals Matte Foundation (Warm Deep)
Bare Minerals Foundation is clinically proven to minimize the appearance of pores while giving the face a flawless look. It offers a natural matte finish with a no-makeup look. The lightweight minerals within this foundation absorbs excess oil without drying out the skin. Does not contain parabens, binders, fillers, or synthetic chemicals.
I have worn Bare Minerals Foundation for a week and I am impressed. It is light and does not weigh down my face unlike the MAC Studio Fix that I use to wear. Bare Minerals Foundation does not irritate my skin or my acne. This foundation is perfect for women of color with acne prone skin.
Smashbox Be Legendary Infrared Matte Lipstick
Most red lipsticks turn orange when applied to my lips. It took the Sephora rep several tries before finding the perfect red lipstick. Smashbox Be Legendary in Infrared is a true red matte lipstick. It offers a silky, matte finish with adherence power. It contains vitamins C and E (antioxidants) to protect the lips. This formula keeps my lips hydrated it does not crack or dry out throughout the day.
NYX Matte Finish Fini Mat Setting Spray
NYX Matte Finish Makeup Setting Spray is a long lasting formula that offers a matte finish to keep makeup lasting all day and night. It keeps my face nice and matte without drying it out or irritating my face. (purchased from Target)
First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy
My undereye area need help. I have always had deep pockets under my eyes but through life and its many curveballs, I feel it has worsened over time. First Aid Beauty Eye Duty Triple Remedy is an eye treatment that is designed to instantly brighten, depuff, and smooth the undereye area. The verdict is still out if it is doing all that it promised but I like the application of this product. The tip is a metal applicator. Think, cold spoon concept for puffy eyes. I place my cream in the fridge so the applicator is nice and cold by morning to help depuff these old eyes of mine.
Bringing It All Together
Here is what I look like with incorporating all of these products. I enjoy a makeup look that is natural and neutral so I am pleased with my purchases.
