If you’re you’re tired of the fragmented shopping experience with burning up your gas with ripping and running from this store and that store and paying shipping to this vendor and that vendor, then this review may be for you. Loux (pronounced “Locs”) is an ethnic hair care website that is striving to be a one stop shop by offering products from a mix of brands. This review will highlight my shopping experience at My Loux.
My Loux Web Experience:
The Loux website is simple and easy to navigate. It offers multiple search options such as hair type, brand and need. You can also search by category (example: conditioner) and subcategory (example: deep conditioner). The Loux website is optimized for desktop, tablet and mobile devices. I browsed Loux from two different operating systems and three different devices and it was easy to navigate on all.
Random Observation: Many vendors like to market oil based products as moisturizers. I fell prey to this back in the day and purchased products that were sealers, thinking they were moisturizers. I get that some oils penetrate but they do not moisturize, they seal. Listing “Oils” under “Moisturize” can be confusing to someone new on their healthy hair journey that does not fully understand moisturizing and sealing.
My Loux Product Selection:
Loux offers brands from those we know to those we don’t know. If your favorite product or brand is not offered on Loux’s website, you can drop them a note and provide feedback.
Every product contains a photo, detailed description and ingredients list. Unfortunately, not many products have user reviews so you will have to take to trusty Google to get to know how a product works.
My Loux Ordering:
Within a couple clicks, I was able to navigate the site, add items to my cart, establish an account, place my order and track my complimentary order: Soultanicals Knot Sauce Coil Detangler as I have read excellent things about its ability to detangle the kinkiest of hair and Obia Natural Babassu Deep Conditioner because I am always down to try a new deep conditioner.
Loux offers a toll-free, live customer service representative during business hours. I did not have a need for this service, thus I am unable to rate the experience.
Loux offers a “reorder” option for the quick reorder of previous orders and free shipping over $35: no promo code needed.
My Loux Shipping & Customer Service:
Upon placing my order, I received a few emails – confirmation of order and ship notice with tracking. Loux lived up to their speedy quick delivery promise – every order arrives in 3 days or less. I kid you not, I ordered after hours Friday night and my order was delivered Monday afternoon! I never even got around to tracking my order because it arrived so quickly. My shipment arrived in good order and without issue in a USPS envelope packed with peanuts.
Conclusion:
I was most impressed with Loux’s speedy quick shipment! I like learning about new brands and Loux offers a few brands that I am not familiar with. Loux offers a good mix of products and brands but most of their offerings fall outside of my staples. If brand selection expands to include those I consider staples, I would not mind shopping with Loux because I love the idea of one stop shopping. You might find they already carry your staples so do check them out. Unfortunately, I will continue fragmented shopping for now.
What do you think about Loux?
I apologize for the low quality images. I tried my best to make them look higher quality but for whatever reason, their website did not play nicely with my software. Original images are of higher resolution on their website.
This is my first time hearing about it. I love to shop online. I will definitely give it a try.
Give it a go, Nerline. They don’t have all the goodies I need, unfortunately. Let me know what you find.
