Left to Right: Pat on the Black, Red My Lips and Jaded.
In an independent study of 375 women, more chose Sally Hansen over Revlon Classic and Essie nail polish in the areas of:
- Color Coverage
- Speed of Application
- Streak Free Application
- The Brush
- Saving Time
First Impression: Cute colors but I have similar shades in my stash since I’m something like a nail junkie.
Application Impression: Disappointed for the reasons below.
Brush Size: The size of the brush is too wide, thus making it nearly impossible to polish neatly. Polish pooled at the nail bed and covered my cuticles. I’m a pretty decent polisher and can pretty much complete an entire manicure without having to clean my nail beds or cuticles. Not so with Sally Hansen. I prefer thinner/smaller brushes because it makes for a neater application.
Polish Color: Love the rich color of Pat on the Black!
Color Coverage: CSM promised streak free application but this isn’t so. It’s very streaky. The only way I was able to minimize streaks was by loading the brush with globs of polish which then increased drying time and of course made for a messier application. The application is very uneven as there are lighter / darker areas on my nails although it’s not visible from the pic.
Time Savings: None. While I was able to paint my nails quicker with the larger brush, my nails require clean-up. Therefore, the time savings is a bust. I’d rather use a smaller brush that I can control to avoid post-mani clean-up.
Lasting Wear: I never wear polish for 10 days so I’m not even interested in this promise.
I haven’t used or swatched Red My Lips and Jaded as of yet but my guess is the application and color coverage is comparable to Pat on the Black.
I personally use the Essie Gel-like polish. unlike this Sally Hensen polish, you get an even application and it is very easy to apply. I try to avoid UV lamps so that is why I use gel-like polishes -no UV needed. you should try it. I use it and love it.
I have gotten gel polish twice and it’s so hard to remove. How do you remove it?
