— My Assessment –
I have seen Soultanicals Knot Sauce praised many times around the web for its ability to detangle even the kinkiest of hair. When Loux reach out to me and offered an opportunity to review several products, I knew Knot Sauce was one of the products I wanted to review.
Consistency & Fragrance: creamy consistency; applies and spreads easily; absorbs into the strands; smells like cake batter with a hint of vanilla!
For Detangling: I am in love with Soultanicals Knot Sauce for its ability to detangle like a dream! I used it on dry hair (pre-wash) and damp hair (post-wash) and its equally as effective for both. My (45 weeks post) hair was easy to detangle with little breakage.
As a Leave-In: I tried Soultanicals Knot Sauce as a leave-in conditioner for flexi rod setting my hair and well, the verdict is still out. My length felt great but my natural new growth was very coarse and dry. I won’t hold this against Knot Sauce, perhaps it’s just not a good leave-in for heat styling. I have not tried Knot Sauce as a leave-in conditioner for air drying since I’m currently taking a break from air drying but I will at some point.
As a Rinse Out Conditioner: I highly doubt I will try it as a rinse out conditioner since my bottle is only 8 ounces and my hair would drink up all of those 8 ounces with the quickness.
Conclusion: While I find the product quite pricey – 8 ounces for $16.00 or 32 ounces for $40 – I can’t knock it, it’s highly effective and I will definitely be purchasing. At this point in my stretch, I need something that will be effective to help these tangles and I think I’ve found it.
