In the past, I struggled with extremely dry relaxed hair during relaxer stretches. It was like my hair had an internal clock and knew when to act out around 10 weeks post relaxer. I wanted to stretch my relaxer for at least 16 weeks but I could never successfully do it because of excessive breakage. 7 Tips to Repair Dry Relaxed Hair
Baggying with a Humectant. Steaming unwashed hair with a humectant draws moisture to the hair and increases hydration. Honey and glycerin are awesome humectants.
Dry Hair Steaming. Steaming unwashed hair with a conditioner (or other moisturizing product) draws moisture to the hair and increases hydration just like the previous step above. The end result is the same, the only difference is the product used.

Baggying Your Hair. You can baggy for a couple of hours or overnight, either option is awesome for increasing hydration. Simply add product to your hair, throw on a plastic cap and allow moisture to form inside the cap. Thank God I don’t run into moisture issues any longer. You already know Cherrelle (my hair) has an attitude and will start writing letters. LOL I agree that steaming and baggying are two of the best methods to combat dryness.

I love oiling my dry hair and baggying it overnight when I need an extra shot of moisture! Adding a moisturizer/liquid always seems to overmoisturize my hair.
I used to live and die by the relaxer method but I got lazy. I am going to do it again this weekend and see if it makes any difference at all in how long the moisture lasts. I find I have to moisturize once every 2-3 days. Maybe that’s as good as it’ll get but it’d be awesome if I could go even longer!

I must moisturize / seal daily especially if wash day didn’t leave me well moisturized. The relaxer method is time consuming but required for my hair.
I totally my understand! Anywhere between week 6-7 post relaxer my hair decides to show it’s behind! For me more frequent cowashes normally help keep the dryness at bay.
