Shea Moisture offers some of the best shampoos for transitioning to natural hair, naturals and relaxed hair. They launched their Manuka Honey and Marfura Oil line sometime last year and it was quite the hit on social media. The reviews were tempting, thus I purchased the Shea Moisture Manuka Honey Shampoo and Hydrating Masque
for the purposes of this review.

My Experience
I conducted this review early on in my relaxer stretch turned transition at or around 12 weeks post relaxer.

The Manuka Honey Shampoo offered a nice lather, leaving my hair feeling clean and moisturized. My new growth and my length felt hydrated and smooth. I would definitely say this is an excellent shampoo for natural hair and relaxed hair.
For those of us transitioning to natural hair, beware! This shampoo caused matting and tangling at the line demarcation where the new growth and relaxed hair meet. It took a solid two hours to fully detangle. Note: My hair is tangle prone, thus you might not experience this same issue.

To further complicate matters, my face experienced a slight burning sensation upon rinsing out the shampoo. Apparently something within the ingredients did not agree with my skin. Thankfully, the irritation was not lasting and the burning sensation went away after getting out of the shower.
I opted against using the Manuka Honey and Mafura Oil Masque at the time of this review although I am open to trying it in the future.

I use Shea Moisture products too when I am not at the salon! Currently I use their African Black shampoo and it smells so lovely. I would love to give this Manuka Honey a try too!

I am terrible with my hair. I use any shampoo that l find in the grocery store. I usually wait till l travel to get something good for afro natural hair, then when its over..back to crap..lol! I just need to start ordering online. My hair could use this 🙂

This is right on time for me since I leave my hair protective styles so I really need something very moistuising when I wash my hait between styles.
Protective styles is the way to go but when you take it down, yeah — you need something moisturizing to whip the hair back in shape.
Thanks, Jay. I read your comment about tangles with interest. Since I’m stretching my relaxer to 12 weeks, and I’m on week six now, maybe I’ll stick with my tried and true Shea Moisture Superfruit shampoo until I relax again.
Hi Patti! Yes, stick with that because I don’t want you having any issues.
I always use Shea Moisture lotions and soaps. I’ve never tried their hair products but now I’m thinking is trying the shampoo.

I don’t believe I tried their lotions and soaps. My skin is so sensitive. Aveeno all the way for me.
This is my absolute favorite Shea moisture line. Smells so good and totally works for my hair.

Oh that’s good to know. My line of demarcation was like what the what!!!
I’m curious about this particular one. I presently use Shea Moisture hair products on myself and my daughter. It totally does the trick.

Which one do you like?
There are a few SheaMoisture products that I absolutely love but their shampoos and conditioners don’t get my motor running. I’ve tried 3 different ones and they all leave my hair feeling dry.

Lol, that was a cute way to put it. I like the Coconut and Hibiscus line pretty good but there are better options available.
I use Shea Moisture products but somehow have not heard of this line. Definitely going to give this a try on my daughter’s hair that is extremely dry.
If you think about it, let me know if you give it a try. Hopefully it will work for her.
I have to give me coils some hair therapy this weekend, so I think I will get this. I typically like Shea Moisture products.
I gave my hair some needed therapy too. Long overdue for sure.
I love the manuka honey masque! It’s definitely hydrating to my hair. I have not tried the shampoo yet, will have to give a try. But I use Alaffia Black Soap – Lavender and Ylang Ylang. This is gently on my hair and cleanses really well

I will keep that in mind about the masque. I’ve tried using black soap on my face but gosh, it stripped my skin. Perhaps it’s gentler on the hair.
Will it help for hairfall? I am loosing many hair everyday.
