Last Week’s #TalkItTuesday with Jay Recap!
Hot Oil Treatment
Temperatures will be cooling down soon so it is time to get serious and pamper our hair with some tender loving care. Jen [Just Grow Already] and I are focusing our efforts on hot oil treatments for the month of September. Hot oil treatments offer benefits to relaxed hair, natural hair and transitioning hair as various oils repair, nourish and provide the hair with manageability. My Current Situation
I am at a point where I want to figure out where this relaxer stretch is headed. I am approaching 61 weeks post relaxer and I no longer desire to be fully relaxed. BUT, I DO NOT want to be natural either. I want to pursue what I consider a happy medium.
Before taking a hiatus from relaxers, I attempted texlaxing via the salon but results were hit and miss. While my results were not bone straight like relaxed hair, my hair was still straighter than what I desired for texlaxed hair. Therefore, I am researching my options to figure out what I want to do — continue texlaxing, pursue a texturizer or continue stretching and transition to natural. At this current point in time, I am leaning toward getting a texturizer.
Anyone out there with a texturizer? Hit me up in the comment section below. I would love to pick your brain about the differences as you see it between relaxed hair, texlaxed hair and texturized hair. My understanding is texlaxed hair and texturized hair are pretty much one in the same with texturized hair having more texture than texlaxed hair. I need to do more research on this topic though.
Also up for consideration is becoming a self-relaxer which I rather not do although I might be forced too in order to achive what I desire.
