This wash day is the last wash before my touch up! My regi included the following steps:
(Sat) Overnight pre-poo with evco and Claudie’s Scalp Elixir. I am not a growth treatment fan because I haven’t experienced increased growth while using them. Rather than letting my stash of growth elixirs sit and collect dust, I now use them on my scalp the night before wash day. I normally use Hair Trigger Growth Elixir but I’m fresh out. Therefore, I reached for Claudie’s Scalp Elixir without thinking. I applied and gave myself a great scalp massage when I suddenly thought, OH MY GOODNESS, this is touch up week and I’ve used a sulfur product. We all know this is a no-no as it can cause chemical burns. I reached out to my stylist and she assured I will be ok to relax Thursday of this week.
(Sun) Detangled with Mane n Tail detangler. After detangling, I sectioned my hair in 4 quadrants to let the fun begin.
Protein treatment. I learned the hard way on this so now I am a faithful user of protein before and after a relaxer to ensure the hair strong and ready to face the chemical process. I applied Aubrey Organics GPB on dry hair for 2 minutes max.
 Shampoo: Bee Mine Botanical.
[4b] Co-Cleanse: HairVeda Amala Cream Rinse.
Bee Mine Botanical is a gentle shampoo and doesn’t strip moisture from the hair. I wanted to wash at least twice to ensure all traces of sulfur was removed but opted to co-cleanse on the second wash for safekeeping. I didn’t want my hair to get stripped by shampooing twice.
Oil Rinse. I oil rinsed with wheat germ oil and layered Sally’s GVP conditioning balm on top.
Condition with steam. I mixed up honey, evoo and Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose and steamed for 45 minutes. I kept the conditioner mix on for another 30 mins before rinsing with room temperature water.
Air Dry. I keep it simple on the wash day before my touch up. I used evco, Pura Body MuruMuru Moisture Milk and avocado oil. I didn’t band my hair and desired a smoother appearance so I added a dab of Cocasta Shikakai oil — love this oil! It smoothed my strands made them feel nice and soft.
My hair is falls somewhere around line 13 of my length check shirt when straightened and/or stretched after air drying. I will continue working on the thin ends by gradually trimming to improve the weight of my hemline. Therefore, I will likely not have much progress to show forth for quite sometime since I’ll in essence be trimming away my progress but I’m on mission to get my hemline back how I want it — full and yum!
