I started this wash day off by overnight pre-pooing with dabur vatika coconut oil to the length and KeraVada Fenugreek to the scalp. My hair and scalp felt really nice the following day. So much, in fact, I gave serious thought to not washing. I washed anyway because if I didn’t, it would be another week before I could get a regi in since I prefer to stay away from mid-week sessions if I can help it. I like my weeks to be hair stress free.
I detangled with Mane n Tail Detangler. This is a great detangler although it has -cones. The comb glides through the hair with ease.
I purchased a new product that I had to try! Redken Cleansing Cream.
I will get a review posted soon…promise! I wasn’t due for clarifying / chelating since I just cleansed with Elucence Moisture Acidifying Shampoo last week. However, curiosity got the best of me and I caved. I used it once before moving through the next steps >> co-cleansing to add back moisture >> oil rinsing >> deep conditioning.
I deep conditioned with Aubrey Organics Honey Suckle Rose with honey and extra virgin olive oil added in. I steamed for 30 minutes with allowing my hair to cool for an extra 15 minutes before rinsing with tepid water.
I changed up my leave in application about a month or so ago and it’s going really well. I still do the LOC method but I’m having great success with layering on my moisturizer in 2 to 3 separate applications vs. globbing on tons of product at one time. So, my LOC method goes a little something like — squeeze excess water from the hair with dabur vatika coconut oil soaked hands; apply Pura MuruMuru Moisture Milk, wait — let it absorb, apply some more, wait — let it absorb and maybe, just maybe, apply some more. Applying in 2 to 3 separate applications allow the moisture to absorb into the hair.
Air Dry! I run the comb through my hair several times while in the shower to keep it nicely detangled and smooth but I always run the comb through my hair one last time after it’s fully air dried. This one last combing removes the remaining sheds and dreads.
