Hold on to your weaves, wigs, buns, braid outs and bantu knots because in case you have not heard, premiering tonight is the new reality television show, Cutting It: In the ATL. This show features five beautiful women looking to “reign supreme” in the Atlanta hair game. The previews show big energy, arguments, shade and confidence among other things.
Since the show is about hair, hair salons and hair stylists, I am hoping to gain some healthy hair information along the way. Wishful thinking, right? For what it is worth, I did learn a tip or two from celebrity hair stylist, Kim Kimble’s “L.A. Hair” reality show so the idea is not too far fetched.
WEtv gives 10 reasons to get excited about the show and I paraphrase: Cutting It: In the ATL features powerful hair stylists full of personality, gossip and shade. These women are some of Atlanta’s top natural hair experts, top extentionists, moguls in the making, some even with celebrity connections — they offer upscale, classy salon experiences while making bank. This show is sure to be full of drama, jealousy, intimidation and yes, affordable weaves.
I will definitely tune in to see what the show is about. I am hoping for a positive show but the previews seem explosive like, “I’m coming for you” and “who gon check me boo.” You know, the typical reality show bickering. We have yet to have a reality show free of cattiness and over the top behavior. Hopefully, Cutting It: In the ATL focuses more on hair styling and hair techniques and less on cat fights and shade but only time will tell.
What are your first impressions after seeing the trailer? Do any of you know and/or frequent any of these hair stylists or hair salons? Spill the tea hunty — *that’s my reality television lingo!* 🙂
Will you be watching?
